Christmas Time!!!!

Wow does time ever fly! Christmas is now about a week away! I feel pretty ready, we have almost all gifts bought and wrapped.  Tonight the plan is to snuggle up with the kiddos and watch Charlie Brown Christmas on t.v.  Possibly do some baking, we've got two parties this weekend and four Christmas's next weekend so we are busy! I plan on making some new things from a new blog I found called "Chef in Training".  She has some awesome recipes.  The kids pretty much want everything they see, when Mason had the opportunity to sit on Santa's lap he told him he would like a chainsaw for Christmas! Yep, that's Mason alright! Abby wants a password journal and elf on a shelf.  The kids' Christmas program at church is this weekend and I'm very excited to watch it as its Mason's first one! Last night I went to a friends' church program in Marshalltown and it was a beautiful program with dinner and Christmas music.  But the best part was at the end, the choir director reminded us to try not to get so caught up in the "busyness" and stress of the season and just relax and enjoy and remember why we celebrate it in the first place.  Our precious savior's birth!

Fun with Costumes!

When I learn more about this blogging business I will start posting more pictures. I think I have to purchase more gigabytes, megabytes or bugbites....not sure which! But we have the kids's costumes for Halloween, finally purchased!  Mason is going to be a transformer, Optimus Prime, to be exact.  Or as he says Opomus Pime! We had rented the movie transformers the day he got his costume and he sat on the living room floor with his whole costume on including the mask looking up at the t.v.  It was cute! Abby is going to be a cowgirl..pink costume and pink cowboy hat, just need some boots!  Ben and I don't dress up for Halloween, but this year we are invited to a Murder Mystery dinner party where we are to dress up in 70's style attire for that.  We are excited and having fun with costume ideas for that!

Adventures in Mommyville

I think we jumped from fall to winter pretty quickly and I decided to take Abby a winter coat, gloves and hat to school on my lunch hour.  I thought she would be so happy and thankful.....well.....more like embarassed and not thankful! Oh well! I feel like a good Mom for doing it...isn't there some saying if you're kids are frustrated with you and/or embarassed by you, you're doing something right!

My main reason for wanting to become a blogger is to document our life! I want to be able to look back and remember funny stories that happened and share with all our family and friends!  Happy reading!

The Learning Curve

This is my first blog post.  Lets see if it works!
